I feel like colourful podiums have a real future! Imagine - artists coming together from all over the world to create podiums that reflect various cultures or social justice issues. I think it's brilliant. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST, PEOPLE! :)
WHAT YOU NEED:
recycled items (boxes, lids, egg cartons, etc.)
other potential building materials: wooden blocks, popsicle sticks
embellishing items (gems, pom-poms, craft foam, ribbon, etc.)
hot glue gun & sticks
HOW TO MAKE:
Provide various building materials and allow artists to create a structure with three platforms for toys to stand on.
Embellish podiums as desired.
Play! :)
ACTIVITY EXTENSIONS:
Write "athlete" profiles for the small toys that secure first, second, and third place!
Create trading cards for each "athlete" on the podium!
Re-enact the final game, race or competition that led the "athletes" to victory!
