PERLER BEAD MAGNETS

Last week I was doing a course online and I didn’t get to be my usual, LET’S-DO-MORE-CRAFTING self. That being said, my girls really stepped up to make lots of magic happen in our cozy “art cafe.”

How wonderful are these Perler bead magnets they created?!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Playdoh (or other similar) lids

  • Perler beads

  • White glue

  • magnets

  • hot or cool melt glue gun

  • Glitter and sequins (optional)

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. Cover the top side of the Playdoh lid with white glue.

  2. Place Perler beads, glitter, and sequins on top of the glue, until your wee heart is content!

  3. Allow to dry overnight.

  4. Use a glue gun to adhere a magnet to the back side of the lid.

  5. Showcase your flashy new magnets on the fridge!

ACTIVITY EXTENSION:

  • Give one of your magnets to a family member, friend, or neighbour!

CONNECTION STARTERS:

  • How did you choose which beads to use?

  • How did you know when your magnet was finished?

  • What sorts of things can we hang on our fridge with our magnets?

THINGS TO CELEBRATE & ENCOURAGE:

  • fine motor skills while picking up small beads and sequins

  • safe use of glue gun

  • use of various colours

  • showing patience while glue dries overnight

These magnets really liven up the kitchen with their bright and happy colours!

We’d love to see yours, too! Tag us at @theartstadium so we can send you some crafting love!

Happy connecting! <3

XOXO,

Lindsay

Really enjoyed how easy this was to get through — it felt like someone just explaining it normally instead of trying to sound fancy. I didn’t have to keep jumping back to figure out what you meant, and the pacing was nice. Halfway through I clicked around https://newimage.io/ out of curiosity, and it gave me the same kind of clean, no-drama feel where you can just find what you need without digging. The way things are split up here also helped a lot; I could skim for the key bits and still not miss anything important. Nothing felt cluttered or cramped, which is honestly rare lately. Even just scrolling down, the page stays readable because the headings and short blocks…
