Leaf-Stamped Watercolour Art

Confession: I bought a ghost mug today. A HALLOWEEN MUG. Today, July 18th. IN THE SUMMER. I have zero regrets about this purchase, as I love a good holiday mug and you must grab them when you see them. However, it reminded me that if the stores are fall-ing, then the blog best be too ;)

This is an easy peasy Kindergarten art project for the fall. You can introduce new materials (e.g. stamps and watercolour paint!) while giving each artist full creative freedom. It's WIN-WIN-WINNNNNN. (That last win is because they look really pretty and allow for some pretty open house decor!)

WHAT YOU NEED:

• watercolour paper

• watercolour paint

• paintbrushes

• ink pad

• leaf stamps

HOW TO MAKE:

1. Invite artists to paint their paper using whatever colours delight them!

2. Allow art to fully dry. This part is important! If the art is still wet, the ink from the stamps will run.

3. Invite artists to stamp their watercolour backgrounds with leaf prints. You could set a limit or request a specific amount if you're hoping to incorporate math thinking :)

I consider this one frame-worthy ;)
