Terry Fox Flags

This year, I learned that waving flags during the Terry Fox Run/Walk totally elevates the experience. It doesn't really matter if it's raining or cold or if someone fell and scraped their knee because......WE HAVE FLAGS! They bring automatic joy.
WHAT YOU NEED:
white cardstock
wooden dowel
hot glue & sticks
paint stick markers
Terry fox cut-outs
Stickers/Magazine cut-outs
glue stick
pom poms
ribbon
HOW TO MAKE:
We did this with an entire class. And so, in preparation, I hot-glued a pom pom to the top of each wooden dowel and tied on a ribbon, too!
Provide a piece of white cardstock to each student. Have them decorate the background first with paint stick markers. These are vibrant (yay!) and quick dry (double yay!).
Students can decorate their flags as they wish, using mini Terry cut-outs, stickers, relevant words or phrases, etc.

I'm starting to think I need more flags in my life. Santa Clause parade flags? Happy long weekend flags? The tooth-fairy-is-coming-tonight flags?! OHHHH the possibilities!
Happy creating!
Love, Linds XOXO
