NYE Paper Scrap Art (a wishing wand in a firework sky!)

Our "collage" bin, as we lovingly call it, is filled to the brim with many different scraps of art materials. It's mostly paper of all-sorts (cardstock, glitter, wrapping, etc), with some ribbon and foam pieces scattered in there too! Going through this bin and exploring it's contents is an activity in itself, but it's even more exciting when an art idea strikes from this casual peruse.
This is a glimpse into how my brain works: WHAT IF WE MADE FIREWORKS (btw, most ideas come out screaming-with-joy), but they were all sorts of colours and patterns and textures and then there was a pretend person watching the fireworks in the park. And this person had a wishing wand. And they are holding up the wishing wand in the firework sky. And then another person who is nearby the first person takes a photo of this moment?!
You're welcome ;)
WHAT YOU NEED:
various scraps of paper or other art materials, cut into small strips
white glue
black cardstock
gold paper
popsicle stick
ribbon
scissors
optional: label maker ;)
HOW TO MAKE:
Decide where you want the center of your firework to be. Begin to squeeze lines of glue in all directions, radiating outward from this point.
Place various paper strips on top of the glue strips.
Continue the process of making glue streaks and adding paper strips on top until you feel you've created a firework of your liking :)
Time for the wand! Cut out a star from glittery paper. Glue it to the top of a popsicle stick.
Glue the wand on top of your firework art. We chose to place our wand on the center point that we chose at the beginning. Trim off the part of the popsicle stick that goes off the page.
If you so choose, add a year (e.g. 2026) and glue a ribbon to the wishing wand.
Use Sharpie creative markers to add little specks of light to your night sky!

I love the way all the various papers showed up and showed out! THESE, to me, ARE STUNNING <3
Happy NYE, friends! Wishing you another beautiful year of creativity!
Love,
Linds XOXO
