Okay, friends. This is an unexpected, kid-created, Halloween art project that I absolutely adore but can take zero credit for. This highly creative craft is something Nory and Jet came up with after looking through our Halloween crafting bin. Fresh perspectives and original ideas are always so exciting!
WHAT YOU NEED:
playdough/modelling clay/air dry clay (we used playdough because it was on hand!)
square of cardboard
aluminum foil
tape
miniature ghosts (search Dollar stores or Temu!)
Halloween embellishments (googly eyes, paper straws, pom poms, spiders, pumpkins, bells, etc)
hot glue gun and glue sticks
scissors
HOW TO MAKE:
Before inviting the girls to the table, I wrapped a piece of cardboard in aluminum foil for each of them. This gave them a surface to work and create on, but feel free to use whatever works in your house! :) A shoebox lid, a paper plate, whatever goes!
Set out various materials, plug in your hot glue gun, and invite the kids to create! By this time, my girls had already named their baby ghosts (it was their idea, remember?!) and had a vision for what a ghost baby nursery needed. We're talking mobiles, cozy cribs, toys, etc.
Besides supervising the hot glue gun, just enjoy listening to their brainstorming, planning, problem-solving and executing. Such fond memories are made at the art table :) As a side note, we LOVE LOVE LOVED the hot glue strings that we normally detest! They made for fun, "comforting!" cobwebs for the baby ghosts ;)
This activity is extended with creative play! Gotta feed the baby ghosts, put them to bed, introduce them to new toys.....haha.
Happy Halloween Crafting, friends!
Love,
Linds XOXO
