Artsy Tennis Racquet

ree

If you follow me on Instagram, you might know that I have an obsession with Wimbledon. I love, love, love watching it each summer...waking up early, making coffee after coffee, learning about new players and cheering on my favourites. It doesn't matter if I'm in British Columbia or New York City or Iceland, I am locked in! So when I happened upon this "Wimbledon" racquet at the local thrift store, I couldn't resist!

WHAT YOU NEED:

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. My intention was to display this art project in the house and so I chose ribbons that brought me lots of joy. FYI - this is my philosophy on decorating in general ;)

  2. There's no one way to do it! Some ribbon will be easy to weave onto the racquet, while others may need to be hot glued on both ends - straight across! - to maintain its fabulous-ness (e.g. fringe ribbon). Some may stay in place (as you like it!) by tying each end of the string to the sides of the racquet. It's choose your own adventure here! Weave what you can, hot glue what you can't and tie what you desire. It's really up to you!

Mine is now proudly hanging in our art room and it is looking a weeeee bit lonely. It could be time for another dash to the thrift store ;) Until then, I wonder if Phil would let me glam-up his pickleball racquet. Not with ribbon, but with.....Posca markers?!

Happy creating! <3
