Sigh.
One of my very favourite people is moving back to her home city. She was the first friend I made at my current school and our relationship is marked by hundreds of coffees and very opposite demeanours. For example, she's more of a beige decorator, whereas I want to feel like a double rainbow vomited in my space.
What can I say? Opposites attract!
When I found out she was leaving, I knew I wanted to give her something homemade that she could put up in her new home. With coffee being a mutually adored thing, I settled on some coffee art. Naturally, a Taylor Swift coffee reference was in order, too!
WHAT YOU NEED:
brewed coffee
mug (to be used as a stamp)
paintbrush
watercolour paper
alphabet stamp set and ink pad
glue
scissors
optional: frame
HOW TO MAKE:
Make coffee :)
Pour a small amount of coffee into a container and allow it to cool.
Using a paintbrush, "paint" the bottom of your mug with coffee. Be sure to get all around the edges.
Quickly stamp the mug onto your water colour paper.
Repeat to create a second marking.
Add some random coffee spills/splashes by flicking your paintbrush or tapping it gently to the paper.
While your coffee art dries, stamp the lyrics of your choosing onto a separate piece of watercolour paper or white cardstock. The lyrics seen here are from Taylor Swift's "Is It Over Now?"
Cut the lyrics into various strips or leave it as one cohesive piece - your choice!
Glue the lyrics onto the coffee art paper.
Frame if you wish :)
I think this would be such a pretty piece of DIY decor for a kitchen or coffee bar area! And I hope my friend thinks of my/our ridiculous coffee obsession every time she looks at it ;)
I'm going to miss you so much, M!
XO
