BUNNY TAIL COLLECTION BOX

I remember posting this beautiful project on Instagram, noting that we had no idea WHAT it actually was, but we were inspired by the Easter season and so VOILA! A follower commented that it looked like a fabulous Bunny Tail Collection and the idea has stuck with us ever since!

If you, too, want to become a Bunny Tail Collector, we’ve got all the deets posted for you below!!!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • pastel paint colours (we mixed in white paint with bolder colours to make them!)

  • paintbrushes

  • a box with compartments (we used wooden trays from the dollar store that had art supplies in them!)

  • pom-poms (we used pink, purple and white)

  • white glue

  • optional: gold permanent marker

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. Paint each individual compartment it’s own beautiful colour.

  2. Allow it to dry.

  3. Use white glue to place pom-poms in some of the compartments. We did this very haphazardly!

  4. Optional: Outline the edges of each compartment with a gold permanent marker. We loved this addition!

ACTIVITY EXTENSION:

  • Think about ways you can adapt this activity for other holidays, like Halloween or Christmas! I already see a jingle bell collection box in our future

CONNECTION STARTERS:

  • What are some of our family’s Easter traditions?

  • Which tradition do you like the most? Why?

  • What are your favourite Easter foods?

  • What does Easter look like at your friend’s house?

  • Do you have friends that don’t celebrate Easter?

THINGS TO CELEBRATE & ENCOURAGE:

  • painting within each compartment and reaching all sides with the paintbrush (this is tricky and requires concentration!)

  • creating pastel colours with white paint

  • using an appropriate amount of white glue

  • embracing the haphazard approach (especially if they tend to prefer more order!)

Ohhhhh I love them. And I can’t wait to display them again next Easter!

Please tag us @theartstadium if you decided to start a collection too

Happy connecting! Or should I say….HOPPY CONNECTING!

XOXO,

LIndsay
