A THANK YOU BANNER FOR TEACHERS

Y’all.

The teachers!

The teachers need recognition on a usual day, but THESE DAYS?! They need it even more.

With school closed for the remainder of the school year and a whole bunch of teachers to thank, we decided to make a banner that we could photograph and send via email. It’s super simple and the girls were thrilled to receive happy emails back from all of the adults they admire!

Ah – the glorious feeling of connection! It’s so great to know that the student-teacher bond is still there, even after all these weeks apart.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • markers or crayons

  • paper (we love the roll from IKEA)

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. Write the message in your favourite style of letters. The girls asked me to do this part!

  2. Color in and decorate as desired

  3. Take a photo of the banner with your smiley child(ren) in the frame!

  4. Send the photo to your child(ren)’s teacher(s).

ACTIVITY EXTENSION:

In the email to teachers, we wrote an individual sentence to each teacher, outlining why we love them so much! Juliet had one of the sweetest sentences for her homeroom teacher…..”You liked me even when you didn’t know me!” My heart!

CONNECTION STARTERS:

  • How do you share markers in your classroom?

  • Do you think some markers look happier than others?

  • What did you like most about each of your teachers?

  • If you could re-live any school day from this year, which one would it be? Why?

  • What are you looking forward to most next year?

THINGS TO CELEBRATE & ENCOURAGE:

  • use of patterns or colour

  • adding details outside of the main message

  • sharing markers or crayons with siblings

If you decide to create a thank you sign for your teachers, please tag us on Instagram. We are @theartstadium and we would love to be the virtual cheerleaders your artwork deserves!

Happy connecting!

XOXO,

Lindsay
